Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands…. Psalm 90:17a

The Irony October 12, 2009

This week’s question that we planned months ago was “What do you want to do before fall is over?” The ironic part is that I woke up this morning to find our lovely fall leaves covered in a blanket of thick, wet snow. Sad. Winter may have already arrived here in MN.

My answer to this question has changed out of necessity. What I would like to do still this fall….

-Bake an apple pie
-Make my annual batch of Chai
-bag up a lot more things to take out of our small house to donate
-Use my Knifty Knitter to make a hat for the baby and for Ruth

and here is what I would have written if winter hadn’t already arrived….
– go back to the orchard
-jump in the leaves
-take in the fall colors somewhere beautiful

    ok, what’s a knifty knitter??

  2. Andie Says:

It’s a tool that is basically knitting for dummies :) I am the dummy! It is this circular contraption that helps you knit without using knitting needles.
You can find one at Joann Fabrics.

YAY! I love chai. I really want to make this. I’ve never bought instant tea. Is it easy to find @ Rainbow?

I can’t believe you had snow this morning!! We have been having WAY too cold temps in Spokane, but at least it’s dry. I think the leaves are confused though with the sudden cold, they are falling w/o turning colors … just not quite as pretty :(

    Molly,
The great thing about this recipe is that many of the main ingredients can be found at ALDI! The instant tea and powdered milk can be found there. You’ll need to get some of the specialty items like cardamom and vanilla creamer at the regular grocery store. Cardamom is spendy at first, but you’ll be able to make a lot of batches.
