vintage crocheted snowflakesEvery year I try to make at least something homemade.  Not only is it a budget necessity, but it is relaxing for me and helps me to focus on the heart of giving of gifts.  This year someone suggested these vintage snowflakes to me as something that I might enjoy …. and they were soooo right!   These little snowflakes were quick to make (less than an hour each, maybe under 30 minutes after the first few) and I just LOVE the way they turned out.  I was able to use them to decorate a table for our church’s women’s Christmas brunch 2 weeks ago, last week I gave a set of them as a wedding gift, and I hope to include one in a few Christmas cards too!  (I love a versitile project!)  peanut butter blossoms

The other thing that we always do (at least a little of) is Christmas baking!  This year I really wanted to try to include the kids in this and was so impressed with how they did making some Peanut Butter Blossoms last week!  Even my almost 2 year old was a big help!  They unwrapped ALL the kisses, Sammy helped roll the balls in sugar, and then they helped put the kisses in the cookies after baking!  It was so much fun to bake with them :)
